Policy
Sustainability policy: small footprint, no green claims
A site about sustainability reporting should be able to say how it treats its own footprint.
This page does that in plain commitments, without figures that would have to be estimated.
Commitments
Four commitments we can check
The site’s direct footprint is the hosting that serves it and the machines it is built on.
The commitments in the table reduce that without needing a number to prove it.
| Commitment | How it shows |
|---|---|
| Static pages | Every page is built ahead of time, so a visit needs no database or server work |
| Few third-party scripts | Analytics load only after consent; fonts are served from this site |
| Remote by default | Work and calls happen online |
| Annual review | This policy is re-read once a year, or sooner if how the site runs changes |
Reporting
Below every threshold, using UK SRS anyway
The publisher is far below the size at which Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting applies, and its securities are not listed, so no UK SRS duty applies to it.
The UK Sustainability Reporting Standards are nonetheless available for voluntary use, and they are the reference this policy is written against.
The Standards themselves are explained from UK SRS S1 onwards, and the family hub is uksrs.org.uk.
Claims
Claims we will not make
We do not describe this site or its publisher as carbon neutral or net zero.
Environmental claims made to consumers are subject to the unfair commercial practices rules in Part 4 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and an unevidenced claim is the kind they catch.
Questions about this policy go to hello@uksrs.org.uk; the about page says who publishes the site.
